The Highlands at Silverado has long understood the need for fire safe stewardship of the community. Since 2002 the community has followed an annual CalFire audited fire prevention program.
In 2017 the community achieved Firewise Certification and continues to take a pro-active strategy to mitigate risk. Download the 2024/2025 National Fire Protection Association Firewise Certification.
The Highlands has a Fire Safety Committee consisting of both Estate and Villa owners which focuses on projects that make our community safer. The Fire Safety Committee oversees the Vegetation Management Plan which includes annual clearing of combustible materials, removal of dead trees and branches, and tree trimming to maintain defensible space around homes.
The Vegetation Management Plan can be accessed from the Owners Portal under Community Information/Governing Documents/Governing Documents.
The NCFF is a non-profit dedicated to reducing the fire load in Napa County and helping the community be firewise and firesmart. It is composed of many local Firesafe Councils, including the Silverado Firewise Council which represents all of Silverado including the Highlands. Go to the NCFF website.
